Class Descriptions

I offer a variety of classes to meet the needs of students - from kids, to beginning adults through advanced yoga students as well as yoga for older adults.  See below for a description of the various classes.

Yoga Flow

A class where poses flow gently from one to the other in conjunction with the breath. Class sequence is interspersed with static postures to address flexibility, strength and balance. Focus is on proper alignment in each pose. This class is suitable for beginners.

Body Sculpt

New Class!-Thursday mornings at 8:30am starting July 8th.  This class will be a fusion of yoga, Pilates based mat work, and body toning exercises using light hand weights, and exercise bands.

Milwaukee Yoga Movement - Kids Yoga

Coming soon.

Vinyasa Flow

A more challenging version of the Yoga Flow class. The word “Vinyasa” means breath synchronized movement. In this class we flow from asana to asana with the rhythm of the breath. Heat is created and the body begins to open and muscles lengthen. Great for building endurance and strength. A great adjunct for those involved in sports or athletic training. A yoga practice of at least 6 months or consent of the instructor is recommended for those attending this class.

Restorative Yoga

Ease into the weekend with a relaxing restorative class. This calming class starts with gentle stretching then, using blocks, blankets, and/or straps, the head, limbs and body are supported in relaxing poses cultivating gentle range of motion and passive stretching. Restorative yoga allows us to “be” rather than “do”. In restorative poses, the body and the mind are able to relax and find balance. This practice is perfect for new students or those with low back issues, pain, fibromyalgia and anyone who wants a gentle, relaxing practice. This class is 60 minutes.

Women's Restorative Yoga

A class where women of all ages come together so that we can celebrate and support each other and nurture ourselves thru stillness, reflection and the practice of gentle, restorative yoga (please see the above description for more info regarding a restorative practice). The class is dedicated to a slow, supported yoga practice to open the body and find that inner place of peace.  The last 10 minutes of class can be spent in savasana or meditation and journaling.  Tea will be provided.

Chair Yoga

A gentle, slower paced yoga class designed for those who are not able to get up Chair yoga pictureand down off the floor. Students participate in a yoga practice either seated in the chair or using the chair as a prop. Ideal for those with neurological issues such as MS, Parkinson’s or those with limited mobility or balance.

ZUMBA!

Easy to follow steps... spicy music... fat melting cardio workout-that's ZUMBA! Connect with your inner dancer! Learn the rhythms of Salsa, Merengue, Zumba logo Cumbia, Calypso just to name a few. Routines incorporate interval training and easy to follow dance moves that utilize fast and slow rhythms to create a fitness program that tones and sculpts the body. Zumba will make you want to "ditch the workout and join the party"! You don't need dance experience to have fun with Zumba. If you can walk and breathe, you can do Zumba!! This class is suitable for all fitness levels. Class is 60 minutes in length. Please note: Wear comfortable clothing and shoes such as cross-training or aerobic shoes. Running shoes are not advisable. Bring water and a beach towel to class.

Private Sessions

Private sessions are a wonderful way to enhance your body/mind experience whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner. Many students have found this a great way to prepare for participation in a group class especially when dealing with specific physical limitations. Private sessions for adults or children are structured to meet the needs of the client. This can include breath work, stress reduction/relaxation, alignment, strength, core stability and therapeutic yoga for individuals with specific health needs.
